FLIS Extracurricular Club Activity Explanation

Club offerings are directly related to grade level curriculum and meant to round out and enhance didactic content. Subsequently, clubs are a vital part of a holistic educational environment being set forth at FLIS with a design and purpose to strengthen social English use and promote problem solving, teamwork and relationship building. Students have an initial choice of clubs, but student club enrollment also depends on available resources so sometimes cannot be as students request. Club changes may be requested but are not guaranteed. In some cases extra fees for resource intensive clubs may be required. Club activities change from one semester to the next depending on teacher availability and student interest, but in general FLIS Clubs have three levels; A- Grades 1- 2,  B- Grades 3-5, (Level A and B clubs meet on Monday, Wednesday and  Even Friday’s during 8th period)  C-Grades 6-8 (level C clubs meet on Tuesday, Thursday and Odd Friday’s during 8th period) There are two sets of separate club offerings, one for each semester. This way, students can round out their interests and allow other groups of interested students to enter popular clubs. Clubs have a strict enrollment limit meant to ensure safety and enhance participation.
